About the plan

Our commitment to reconciliation

The We Help Ourselves Reconciliation Action Plan strengthens our commitment to building respect and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people — work that underpins culturally safe and culturally competent services for First Nations people accessing WHOS.

Built on three commitments

The plan follows Reconciliation Australia’s framework of relationships, respect and opportunities.

Relationships

Building genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, staff and the people we support.

Respect

Deepening understanding of First Nations cultures, histories and rights across teams, programs and everyday practice.

Opportunities

Creating culturally safe pathways to treatment, employment and lasting recovery for First Nations people.
